Local indie recording artist Tyler Kennedy keeps me thinking about the ocean waves in his art of music. There is a breezy island sound that I just can’t resist. What’s awesome about Tyler? He writes and composes all of his own music, as well as, plays all the instruments himself. He is definitely what I call a jack of all trades. Kennedy recently released a new single titled “Wanting Is Being Able To”. Tyler says he crafted this track to be symbolic of a particular time when he was going through some adversities with his ex.
Kennedy states in a Q&A “The song in its entirety speaks of a murderer. Symbolically speaking, the murderer is the romantic offender while the victims of the murders are the victims of the relationship.” Sounds pretty spicy right? Just wait till you hear the track.
This isn’t the first time I’ve featured the indie artist on Organicboi. In November of last year, I released a report titled “FDA Approves GMO Salmon” and at the end of the short report, there is a snippet of his instrumental track “Intercommission” The sound is so soothing and relaxing.
Tyler Kennedy won’t be in Orlando too much longer, he will be relocating to Los Angeles, CA this summer. The goal is to put a band together and perform his brilliant songs for listeners to enjoy. In 2017, Tyler is hoping to play at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which is an annual arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

It’s Day 2 of #31DaysofCleanLiving Today, I have a featured post straight from my friends at CityMaidGreen. This year I challenge you to educate yourself on the use of herbs. There are so many different types of herbs available that can be used to cook with and used for medicinal purposes. As a society, we depend upon modern medicine to fix every little illness or pain we experience. Herbs have been used for thousands of years treating ailments, but people seem to struggle to identify some herbs as if they’re some type of foreign products. Lavander and Chamomile are my two favorite herbs and, fortunately, pairs great together as a tea which I consume almost every night before bed. Find a local herbalist that can feed you with the information you need to live a rich holistic life. Check back daily for more tips on living GREEN. If you have any tips, questions, or comments tweet me @theorganicboi
Curing and treating disease with plants and herbs have been used by herbalists and apothecaries throughout the centuries. While Western medicine does have value, plant-based medicine for disease prevention and treatment has stood the test of time. Herbs do more than simply add flavor and color to your favorite dishes, their healing and restorative powers are remarkable on the human body.
AS A NATURAL ANTISEPTIC
A wide variety of herbs contain antiseptic properties, keeping disease from spreading rampant in the body. Antiseptic herbs are used to kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms when applied to living tissue or skin. When ingested, the herbs reduce the possibilities of infection, sepsis, or putrefaction. City Maid Green’s cuts and scrapes healing balm uses the healing power of antiseptic herbs to keep microorganisms from causing further infection in the body.
What to use: Thyme, sage, rosemary and bay leaves
TO BOOST THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
Herbs high in flavonoids have anti-inflammatory properties that stimulate the immune system promoting the activity of the lymphocytes (types of cells which circulate in the body ready to eliminate foreign invaders such as viruses). Doctors agree that nearly all disease is a type of inflammation in the body. Poor food choices, toxins in the environment and products we consume all contribute to inflammation in the body. By using an anti-inflammatory herb, you can begin to restore balance and health. Several of City Maid Green’s healing balms treat inflammation: Cold/Sinus, Calming, Sore Muscles and Headache balms reduce inflammation in the body by feeding the immune system with powerful nutrients and anti-inflammatory medicine.
What to use: Rosemary, Chamomile, Lavender, Basil, Tumeric, Arnica
TO RELAX AND SOOTHE THE MIND
We are busy people and with the chaos of daily life comes stress, anxiety, and even depression when the body doesn’t have a chance to restore and renew itself with proper sleep, exercise, and nutrition. Most Americans turn to over the counter drugs such as sleeping pills, energy drinks/pills, anti-anxiety medication, and so on. What they don’t realize is that all of these drugs cause severe inflammation in the body due to the high toxicity of the drug. This inflammation only further weakens the immune system causing more sickness and more dependence on drugs. Herbs do the exact opposite. Plants like lavender and tangerine are known for their ability to calm and relax the mind. Arnica is another herb that is just as powerful as an aspirin to reduce pain. These herbs restore balance and peace of mind while reducing inflammation in the body.
What to use: Lavender, Tangerine, Arnica, Lemon Balm, Chamomile

Looking for the very best juice bar in Orlando? The answer is Skyebird located in the East End Market on Corrine drive. What I love about Skyebird? It’s all organic, so I don’t have to worry about GMOs or harsh additives in my juice. I have noticed that some juice bars use some sort of liquid sugary syrup substance to sweeten drinks, you will not see that at Skyebird. Everything at Skyebird is the way nature intended it to be pure, wholesome, and holistic. I think one of the best idea’s that Skyebird came up with, is serving their juices and smoothies in ball glass jars. I absolutely love it, because I am sure you have heard reports about how plastic could be harmful not only for you, but the environment as well. You can either return your jar to the bar, or keep it and bring it in next time for cents off your next juice/smoothie. Skyebird even serves plant based foods as well, check out their menu on Skyebird’s Facebook page http://www.skyebird.com/
